Fancy a drink after work? Forget the wine … try my “Post Early-Shift Tonic!”
Containing the green leafy vegetable – Kale, this beverage is actually good for you (no that was not a typo!).
Kale contains enzymes which help with detoxification – the cleansing process through which the body eliminates harmful compounds. Essentially these sulphur-containing phytonutrients called ‘organosulfurs’, are a liver-friendly food that helps keep the liver in good health (as opposed to the regular alcoholic beverages which are essentially toxins on our body). Sorry, but there’s no real “nice way” to say it!
Ingredients
2 stalks of celery
1 kale leaf
1 apple
1/2 cucumber
1/4 rockmelon
250 ml coconut water
Throw all of the ingredients into a blender, put your feet up after your early shift and enjoy!
