Apple Truffles – A Healthy Recipe To Nip Those Sugar Cravings In The Bud!

Are you prone to a mid-afternoon slump post early shift? Do you often gravitate towards the refrigerator after work in search of a sweet treat to help nip those sugar cravings in the bud?

If so, these delectable little treats may be just what you’re looking for – particularly if you’re needing an energy boost and you’re watching your calorie intake at the same time.

So instead of reaching for the sugar-laden Mars bar, Coke-a-Cola or bag of lollies try these super tasty fruit and nut truffles …

Ingredients

1 large organic apple
1 cup organic sultanas
3/4 cup dried medjool dates, soaked for 1 hour
3 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cardamom
1 cup almonds
1 cup cashews
1/4 ground sesame seeds to roll balls in

Method

Grate apple in a high powered food processer. Squeeze out any excess liquid.

Add the sultanas, dates, cinnamon, cardamom and nuts into the food processor and blend to a course mixture.

Shape into balls and roll in ground sesame seeds or nuts that have been mixed into a fine powder.
