To Exercise Or To Watch TV … Which One Would You Choose?

Are you guilty of slumping on the couch and sitting in front of the box for a few hours? Are you one of these people that complains about never having enough time to exercise?

Well here’s a little bit of trivia for you that you might find really interesting:

* 99% of all homes in the USA have at least one TV. Probably not surprising but what will probably shock you to the core (as it did me) is that 45% of all homes have three or more TV’s. Forgive me here but I find this totally ridiculous …

* A person watches TV an average of 40 days per year. That’s over a month of being glued to an idiot box!

* Children spend 1,023 hours a year watching TV compared to 900 hours in school. This is quite frightening since the future of our planet is relying on this generation.

And what’s really fascinating is that 70% of people say that no matter how hard they try, they never seem to have enough time to do everything they need to do.

Are you like me and seeing a bit of a connection here?

So if you’re reading this right now and you’re starting to feel an overwhelming sensation of guilt that you and/or members of your family fit into one of these categories, then here’s my little tip for you for the day.

If you give up TV for just one day a week, you can exercise for the recommended weekly amount necessary for healthy living, read over 20 books a year, or just spend more time having fun and meaningful conversations with your friends and loved ones.

So instead of watching reruns of Friends – get off the couch, go and do some exercise and you will feel and become a much healthier person inside and out … plus you might end up making even more friends – real ones that is!

P.S – Not to mention your electricity bill will drop substantially – especially if you have 3 TV’s in your house … seriously, what’s with that??!!
