Now I don’t know about you, but I’ve just spent the last 24 hours glued to the TV watching the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Politics aside, you couldn’t help but be mesmerised by the whole event – particularly if you’re a sucker like me when it comes to romance. :)

And it really didn’t matter what part of the world you lived in because so many people elected to set their alarm clocks and watch the Royal Wedding live … regardless of having to suffer from a bit of sleep deprivation.

So to co-incide with the Royal Wedding, I’ve got some really exciting news for you because I’ve just released my long awaited book – Surviving Crazy Hours: The Shift Worker’s Guide To Managing Fatigue.

And why I’m so excited about the release of this book (is not because it’s taken me almost 2 years to write), but because it’s been written based on the feedback from over 1200 shift workers from around the world.

After receiving an overwhelming response to my question “What is your biggest shift work struggle?” – “Surviving Crazy Hours: The Shift Worker’s Guide To Managing Fatigue” has been born.

So whether you’re a night shift worker, or you work a lot of earlies – or heaven forbid, long and extended hours, I’m sure that you will enjoy reading this book.

What also makes it a little unique, is that it’s been written by a shift worker – for a shift worker, which of course is YOU.

And the best part is that it’s in the form of an ebook which means that if you’d like to read it, you won’t have to wait for days, potentially weeks to receive your book.

So I’d like to say “Thank You” to everyone that was kind enough to share with me their most difficult and painful shift work struggle. This information has been incredibly valuable in the creation of this book.

I certainly hope that you enjoy reading the book and you’re able to apply some of the strategies into your own shift working life so that it becomes a much more healthier and enjoyable one :)

P.S – Of course, may we wish Kate and Wills a very long and happy marriage full of good health and happiness!

Are you sick of shift work?  Is it starting to wear you down as you lead an abnormal existence of working crazy and irregular hours?  It’s not surprising given the disruptive lifestyle that comes with being a shift worker.

But did you know that in order for things to change, you are going to have to start making some changes of your own.

Confused?  Well think of it this way.  If you don’t start making some changes – then nothing is going to change for you.

You see a lot of people expect things to get better without being committed to making the necessary changes.

So if you’re sick of shift work and you’re just hoping things are going to change for the better – then you’re in for a long wait.  Quite simply, you have to recognise that for things to change, you have to be the driver of that change.

Fortunately this is something that you have complete control over, that is – yourself.  Each decision you make, each action you take, is 100% controllable and entirely up to you.

For the vast majority of the population however, people become tired and frustrated with their current status quo and rather than do something about it – they just whinge and complain.  They don’t realise that in order to get the results that they’re wanting – it requires action.

You’ve no doubt heard of the saying – “all talk no action”, and it’s true.  If you’re not prepared to put in the work and take some action, then nothing is going to change.

So if you’re sick of shift work and the way that your life is at the present moment – then it might be time to stop blaming others and start taking responsibility for your life.

This might come as a complete shock, but the situation you’re in at work right now is the direct result of all of your beliefs and actions up until today.  And more importantly, your future work environment is dependent upon the decisions and actions that you take from this moment forward.

So if you’re sick of shift work and where your life is heading right now, then you need to work out what changes YOU need to make, and then get into action and start making them.

It’s going to require you to step out of your comfort zone and learn new things, but if you just stick at it - the end results will be very worthwhile.  You never know, you might even end up securing a job that you absolutely love!
